Birth anniversary of Imam Ali celebrated at Aligarh Muslim University, India (+Photos)

The Aligarh Muslim University celebrates the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (a.s) as Ali Day with great Zeal and enthusiasm without any distinction of Religion or region.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Aligarh Muslim University celebrates the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (a.s) as Ali Day with great Zeal and enthusiasm without any distinction of Religion or region.

On 22nd March , a book exhibition is marked in Maulana Azad library at 10:00 am in which some rare manuscripts including the holy Quran written by Imam Ali (as) was displayed.
This book Exhibition was inaugrated by University Registrar Abdul Hameed.

Hon’ble Prof.Mahrukh Mirza, Vice Chancellor, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Urdu, Arabi-Farsi University, Lucknow was the chief guest of the function presided by the vice chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Tariq Mansoor. Hujjatul Islam Hadi Walipour was the guest of honour whereas Maulana Akhtar Abbas Jaun ,and Prof. Farhatullah Khan were the guest speakers and last but not the least the poets were Prof. Ainul Hasan, and Syed Shohrat Adeeb.

Prof Parvez Qamar Rizvi delivered the welcome address and Prof. Abid Ali Khan,Treasurer, Ali Society delivered the vote of thanks.

The celebration started at 7:30pm in the kennedy auditorium with the recitation of Holy Quran.

Addressing the Ali Day commemorative meeting at the Aligarh Muslim University’s Kennedy Auditorium yesterday evening Prof. Tariq Mansoor said that "Hazrat Ali was a greatest scientist whose teachings created the people like Ibne Sina, Omar Khayyam, Jabir Ibne Haiyan etc.

This is an institution and the followers of Holy Prophet and Hazrat Ali Should Have their vision like them. Hazrat Ali was the gate of Knowledge so atleast we should enter into that."

Prof. Mahrukh Mirza said "There are Hundreds of Titles of Imam Ali (as) and one of them is Maula-e-Kainat, which means Imam Ali is not Limited to any religion, cast and creed but every generous men who knows about him will accept Imam Ali, however the angle may be different but not negative."

Hujjatul Islam Hadi Walipour Urged AMU students to work for universal brotherhood because this is the basic principle of Islam.

If we will look into the life of Imam Ali (as) then, it is full of love, peace, tolerance and large heartedness and brotherhood."

Addressing the people Maulana Akhtar Abbas Jaun said "The Noble personalities always remains unidentified in their times but when the next generations goes through their lives, then they feels the greatness of that person. The same happened with Imam Ali (as), but now also the people are unable to understand the character of Imam Ali (as) because people has chosen the Person(Imam Ali) not his mission.

He also mentioned that some global powers wants to eliminate the concept of Religion, but after the struggle of Imam Khomeini the people opened their eyes that the Religion can not only survive but also can lead a nation."

Emeritus Prof. Farhatullah Khan affirmed that the vision that Hazrat Ali presented some two thousand years ago in Nahjul Balagha, remained to be valid still today. He also pointed out the letter of Imam Ali (as) to Malik-e-Ashtar (The governor of Egypt, Appointed by Imam Ali) in which he told.

Do not stand over them like greedy beasts who feel it is enough to devour them, since they are of two kinds, either your brother in religion or one like you in creation. They will commit slips and encounter mistakes. They may act wrongly, wilfully or by neglect. So, extend to them your forgiveness and pardon, in the same way as you would like Allah to extend His forgiveness and pardon to you, because you are over them and your responsible Commander (Imam) is over you while Allah is over him who has appointed you."

Prof. Ainul Hasan and Syed Shohrat Adeeb presented poetic tribute to Hazrat Ali.

Syed Sajid Hussaini presented the Annual Report of Ali Society.

The programme was conducted by Ash'had Parvez and Sajid Hussaini.

Winners of essay, debate, speech and quiz competitions, held to mark the Ali Day, were also awarded with prizes.
